In the first half of 2024, Dubai Police handled nearly 80 boat collisions and 10 maritime rescue incidents, according to authorities. Brigadier Dr. Hassan Suhail Al Suwaidi, the director of the Ports Police Station, highlighted the response to a total of 78 maritime collisions and the recording of 272 maritime-related violations from January to June. He emphasized the skills and preparedness of Dubai Police’s marine rescue teams, equipped with advanced technology, rescue tools, fast boats, and GPS devices.

Col. Ali Abdullah Al Naqbi, the deputy director of the Ports Police Station, commended the teams for their swift and effective responses that have saved numerous lives and provided assistance in critical situations. The Facilities Security Section conducted 12 field inspections, identifying seven areas of concern requiring adjustments by relevant entities based on laws and regulations. Dubai Police emphasized the importance of promoting awareness of maritime security and safety as a key priority, delivering over 550 lectures and training workshops focusing on maritime security and safety, and organizing navigation procedures in accordance with UAE maritime laws.

It is evident that Dubai Police’s marine rescue teams play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of maritime activities in the region. With their advanced technology and equipment, they are well-prepared to respond to any emergency situation, such as boat collisions and maritime rescue incidents. The dedication and quick actions of the teams have significantly contributed to saving lives and providing assistance when needed.

The collaboration between different sections of Dubai Police, such as the Ports Police Station and the Facilities Security Section, is essential in addressing maritime safety and security concerns. The field inspections conducted and the identification of areas requiring adjustments demonstrate a proactive approach towards ensuring compliance with laws and regulations. By raising awareness through lectures and workshops, Dubai Police are actively engaging with the community to promote a culture of maritime safety and security.

The emphasis on training and organizing navigation procedures according to UAE maritime laws highlights Dubai Police’s commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety in maritime activities. This proactive approach not only ensures the safety of individuals involved in maritime operations but also contributes to maintaining a secure environment for all stakeholders. Through their continuous efforts and initiatives, Dubai Police are setting a precedent for effective maritime safety and security measures in the region.

In conclusion, the significant number of boat collisions and maritime rescue incidents handled by Dubai Police in the first half of 2024 underscores the importance of having skilled and well-prepared marine rescue teams. With their advanced technology, equipment, and training programs, Dubai Police are at the forefront of ensuring maritime safety and security in the region. By promoting awareness, conducting inspections, and organizing navigation procedures according to laws and regulations, Dubai Police are making substantial contributions to creating a safer maritime environment for all.
