The third edition of the Oman Electricity and Energy Conference is set to kick off at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Centre, focusing on reviewing the mechanisms for implementing the Sultanate of Oman’s plans for energy transformation with both local and international participation. The three-day conference will feature 60 speakers from the electricity and energy fields, discussing a range of topics including network flexibility, energy storage systems, smart grid solutions, and the use of hydrogen in generating energy from electricity turbines. Dr. Khamis bin Saif Al Jabri, Head of the Follow-up Unit for the Implementation of Oman Vision 2040, will be sponsoring the opening of the conference.

Organised by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Raya Services and Business Company in partnership with Nama Group, the conference aims to create a platform for building national cadres, exchanging technical expertise, and staying updated on the latest developments in the energy sector. The event will cover various subtopics such as the future of sustainable energy, transmission and distribution network development, energy efficiency, asset management, digital transformation, and smart grids. Participants will also examine the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts in energy transformation, reducing carbon emissions, and ensuring energy supplies to support economic diversification paths.

Eng. Abdullah bin Suleiman Al-Wahaibi, Head of the Electricity and Energy Division at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, highlighted that this year’s conference will focus on mechanisms for implementing the Sultanate’s energy transformation plans. The event will feature working papers, visual presentations, specialized discussion sessions, and workshops addressing the challenges facing the electricity and energy sectors. Additionally, an accompanying exhibition will showcase the latest technologies and solutions in the energy and electricity sectors, providing an open platform for researchers and students to present their research and studies in the field.

With an emphasis on reviewing the latest developments and policies in the energy sector, the Oman Electricity and Energy Conference will serve as a hub for experts and specialists from various sectors. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in discussions, network, and share insights on key topics pertaining to the industry. By bringing together stakeholders from inside and outside Oman, the conference aims to foster collaboration, drive innovation, and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the energy sector in the Sultanate.
