Khaleej Times, part of Galadari, has recently appointed Charles Yardley as its new Chief Executive Officer. Yardley officially joined the team on September 2 and has relocated to Dubai for this role. The newspaper was founded in 1978 as the UAE’s first English-language daily newspaper and has since become a trusted multimedia platform. Yardley’s main responsibilities will include overseeing all operations and guiding the strategic direction of Khaleej Times as it transitions from a traditional print newspaper to a digital-first multi-channel editorial brand.

Mohammed Galadari, Co-Chairman and Group CEO, expressed his excitement about Yardley joining the team in his new role. He believes that Yardley’s impressive background and experience in driving growth and innovation for global media brands, as well as his ability to build strong relationships with marketers, will be instrumental in solidifying Khaleej Times’ position as a leading media company in the UAE and beyond. Yardley himself is excited about the opportunity to lead Khaleej Times and is looking forward to expanding the business and creating new opportunities for the brand, while also empowering the newspaper’s journalism.

Yardley’s previous experience includes serving as the CEO of London’s Evening Standard, as well as holding senior roles at The Financial Times, Forbes Media LLC, and City AM, where he focused on revenue growth strategies. His expertise in driving growth and innovation within the media industry makes him well-suited for leading Khaleej Times during its transformation into a digital-first platform. Yardley’s focus on expanding the business and building new opportunities for the brand indicates a shift towards a more dynamic and forward-thinking approach, which will likely benefit Khaleej Times in reaching new audiences and solidifying its position in the media landscape.

One of the key aspects of Yardley’s role as CEO of Khaleej Times will be to drive the newspaper’s evolution from a traditional print-based model to a more digitally-focused, multi-channel editorial brand. This shift is in line with broader trends in the media industry, where digital platforms are becoming increasingly important in reaching wider audiences and engaging with readers in new and innovative ways. Yardley’s experience in leading global media brands through similar transitions makes him a valuable asset in guiding Khaleej Times through this transformation.

With the appointment of Charles Yardley as its new CEO, Khaleej Times is poised to continue its growth and innovation in the media landscape. Yardley’s track record of delivering growth and driving innovation for global media brands, coupled with his expertise in building deep client relationships, positions him well to lead Khaleej Times to new heights as a digital-first editorial brand. Under his leadership, Khaleej Times is likely to see further expansion and development of the brand, as well as new opportunities for growth and success in the ever-evolving media industry.
