The Kingdom of Bahrain, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, advocates for peaceful resolutions to conflicts and disputes through dialogue and political solutions. This commitment to peace was reiterated by His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, during Bahrain’s address at the Third Summit of the Asian Cooperation Dialogue in Doha. The Minister highlighted the importance of achieving a just, comprehensive, and sustainable peace in the Middle East, particularly in addressing the longstanding Palestinian issue. Emphasizing the urgent need for peace in the region, the Minister called for an international peace conference to establish an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The tragic situation in Gaza was underscored as a pressing concern, with the Minister emphasizing the immediate cessation of the war, protection of civilians, release of hostages and detainees, and facilitation of humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza. The Minister also warned against the spread of conflict to neighboring countries, highlighting the threats it poses to regional security and stability. He acknowledged the challenges posed by ongoing conflicts, sharp disputes, and various political, economic, social, and environmental issues that hinder comprehensive development.

The Minister called for enhanced cooperation among Asian nations to address these challenges collectively, strengthen partnerships, and build a brighter future for their countries and peoples. The recent Bahrain Summit in May also emphasized the importance of achieving peace and stability in the region, with specific calls for an independent Palestinian state and immediate measures to alleviate the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The Minister’s address at the Asian Cooperation Dialogue highlighted Bahrain’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region and its willingness to work collaboratively with other nations to address common challenges.

In conclusion, the Kingdom of Bahrain remains committed to pursuing peaceful solutions to conflicts and disputes, in line with His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision for a more peaceful and stable Middle East. The Minister of Foreign Affairs’s address at the Asian Cooperation Dialogue underscored the urgent need for a just and comprehensive resolution to the Palestinian issue and highlighted the importance of regional cooperation in addressing ongoing conflicts and challenges. By working together with other Asian nations, Bahrain aims to build a more prosperous, peaceful, and stable future for the region and its people.
