Al Jazeera Media Network recently announced the launch of their new digital platform, Al Jazeera 360, which is set to debut on Sunday, September 15, 2024. This new streaming platform and video-on-demand (OTT) service will offer a vast digital library of programs and documentaries, with over 20 exclusive programs produced specifically for the platform. The announcement was made during a press conference held at the headquarters of Al Jazeera Media Network, where it was revealed that Al Jazeera Arabic’s programs, which ceased broadcasting in October 2023 due to regional events, will now be exclusively available on the new platform.

The original programs on Al Jazeera 360 will cover a range of content, including cultural, entertainment, discussion, and religious topics, all presented in a fresh format. Additionally, viewers can expect to see a variety of films, documentaries, and investigative programs on the platform. Notably, Al Jazeera 360 will also showcase the extensive archive of Al Jazeera Media Network, featuring over 50,000 hours of programs and documentaries produced by channels such as Al Jazeera Arabic Channel, Al Jazeera Documentary Channel, AJ+ Arabic, and Al Jazeera O2 platform, as well as content from the “Atheer” podcast platform. All content on the platform will be available to the public free of charge.

With the current challenges posed by restrictions on social media platforms and content access policies, Al Jazeera 360 aims to serve as a gateway for Arabic-speaking audiences to consume Al Jazeera’s content without limitations. Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer Al Thani, Chairman of Al Jazeera Media Network, expressed that the platform reflects the network’s commitment to providing accurate, balanced, and professional media content that empowers viewers. Acting Director General Dr. Mostefa Souag emphasized that the platform’s focus is on offering viewers the freedom to choose what they watch, reinforcing Al Jazeera’s core principles of presenting diverse perspectives.

Dr. Souag highlighted that Al Jazeera 360 embodies the spirit of Al Jazeera, known for its integrity, respect, and human-centric approach in its content. The platform has already attracted renowned Arab media personalities and has provided opportunities for emerging talents to enter the Arab media landscape. By offering a diverse range of programs and documentaries, Al Jazeera 360 seeks to cater to the preferences of viewers while upholding the network’s longstanding commitment to providing a platform for different opinions and perspectives. Visitors to the platform can expect a rich and varied content experience, with an emphasis on quality and relevance.
