The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, H E Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, revealed that there have been no talks or contact with any parties recently to reach a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. This statement was made during a press conference at the conclusion of the GCC-EU Summit in Brussels. The Prime Minister emphasized that negotiations are at a standstill, with all parties remaining silent on the issue.

The Brussels Summit, which was attended by leaders from the Gulf and Europe, was deemed as a crucial moment for both regions. Discussions centered around the Middle East, particularly focusing on Lebanon and Gaza. Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the urgency of halting the aggression against the Lebanese people and emphasized the importance of a two-state solution to resolve conflicts in the region.

The leaders at the summit released a joint statement expressing their support for efforts made by the United States, Qatar, and Egypt to cease fire in Gaza. They also called for an end to escalating tensions in Lebanon. This show of solidarity marks the first Gulf-European summit since official relations were established between the two sides in 1989. The summit was chaired jointly by Amir of Qatar, H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the President of the European Council, H E Charles Michel.

The Prime Minister underscored the necessity of bringing an end to the conflict in the Middle East through peaceful means. The joint effort between the Gulf and European countries aims to address the ongoing crisis in the region and to work towards a sustainable solution. Discussions also touched upon other pressing issues, such as the situation in Lebanon and Gaza, highlighting the importance of finding a diplomatic and peaceful resolution.

The GCC-EU Summit serves as a platform for leaders to come together and address common challenges facing the two regions. The event provided an opportunity for constructive dialogue and cooperation between the Gulf countries and European Union member states. The joint statement released at the end of the summit reflects the commitment of both sides to work together towards achieving peace and stability in the Middle East.

Overall, the GCC-EU Summit in Brussels was a significant gathering that brought together leaders from both regions to discuss key issues, such as the crisis in Lebanon and Gaza. The joint statement issued at the conclusion of the summit demonstrates a united front in supporting efforts to cease fire in Gaza and halt escalating tensions in Lebanon. The focus on a two-state solution as a means to resolve conflicts in the region highlights the commitment of both the Gulf countries and European Union to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.
