The Social Development Center (Nama), in collaboration with the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, has recently launched the first Social Entrepreneurship Award in Qatar and the Gulf region. This award aims to recognize and honor social entrepreneurs who have developed innovative solutions to social challenges, as well as encourage young people to create entrepreneurial projects that address societal needs. Registration for the award will be open until October 30, with applicants required to be at least 18 years old and submit projects with tangible and measurable social impacts.

The Social Entrepreneurship Award consists of two categories. The first category is for the best existing project, with a prize of QR200,000 awarded to the most successful and sustainable initiative. The second category is for the best project idea, with a prize of QR100,000, given on the condition that the project is completed. The Executive Director of Nama Center, Ghanim Salah Al Ali, emphasized that this award reflects the center’s commitment to supporting social entrepreneurship in alignment with Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030), which prioritizes sustainable development and the role of youth in achieving national goals.

Al Ali expressed his optimism that the Social Entrepreneurship Award will empower young individuals to turn their innovative ideas into impactful projects that benefit Qatari society. By providing young social entrepreneurs with the necessary tools and skills to address social challenges and contribute to sustainable development, the award aligns with the Third Qatar National Development Strategy 2024-2030 (NDS3). Through initiatives like the Social Entrepreneurship Award, Nama seeks to foster a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among the youth, supporting the country’s long-term development goals.

The launch of the Social Entrepreneurship Award represents a significant milestone for Nama and the Qatar Foundation for Social Work, as it demonstrates their commitment to nurturing social entrepreneurship in the region. By recognizing and rewarding individuals who have developed innovative solutions to social challenges, the award aims to inspire others to follow suit and create positive change in their communities. With a focus on young social entrepreneurs, the award also aligns with Qatar’s vision for sustainable development and the empowerment of youth as catalysts for change.

Considering the evolving landscape of social entrepreneurship and the increasing importance of innovative solutions to complex societal issues, the Social Entrepreneurship Award serves as a valuable platform for young individuals to showcase their creativity and drive for positive change. By supporting and rewarding these efforts, Nama aims to foster a generation of socially conscious entrepreneurs who can contribute to the overall well-being and development of Qatari society. With the deadline for registration approaching, aspiring social entrepreneurs are encouraged to seize this opportunity to make a difference and be recognized for their impactful contributions.

In conclusion, the launch of the Social Entrepreneurship Award by Nama Center represents a significant step towards promoting social entrepreneurship in Qatar and the Gulf region. By recognizing and rewarding innovative solutions to social challenges, the award aims to inspire young individuals to develop entrepreneurial projects that benefit society. With a focus on empowering youth, supporting sustainable development goals, and fostering creativity and innovation, the award aligns with Qatar’s vision for the future. As registration remains open until October 30, aspiring social entrepreneurs are encouraged to submit their projects and contribute to the positive transformation of their communities.
