Karam Gabr, Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) of the Arab Republic of Egypt, recently visited the Sultanate of Oman, where he toured the Royal Opera House Muscat (ROHM) and the National Museum. During his visit to ROHM, Gabr learned about the House’s departments, facilities, and programs. He also had the opportunity to see the latest equipment used in world music shows and admired the unique architectural designs that combine Omani cultural heritage with influences from around the world.

At the National Museum, Gabr explored various sections highlighting Oman’s rich history and civilization. He was particularly interested in the corner dedicated to the late Sultan Qaboos bin Said bin Taimour, known as the “Dearest and Finest of Men,” in the Renaissance Hall. Gabr’s visit to these cultural sites emphasized the importance of preserving and promoting Oman’s heritage through media and communication initiatives.

Gabr’s visit to both ROHM and the National Museum showcased Oman’s commitment to showcasing its cultural heritage and history to visitors from around the world. By combining traditional Omani architectural elements with modern design features, ROHM has become a hub for world-class music shows and performances, attracting audiences from near and far. The National Museum, on the other hand, offers a deep dive into Oman’s past, highlighting key moments and figures that have shaped the country’s identity.

As Head of the SCMR, Gabr plays a crucial role in regulating media content in Egypt and ensuring that it aligns with the country’s cultural values and standards. His visit to Oman allowed him to see firsthand how culture and heritage are being preserved and promoted through various media channels and initiatives. By understanding Oman’s approach to cultural preservation, Gabr can apply similar strategies in Egypt to safeguard the country’s rich history and traditions for future generations.

Overall, Gabr’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman was an opportunity to exchange ideas and best practices in cultural preservation and promotion. By visiting iconic cultural sites such as ROHM and the National Museum, Gabr gained insights into Oman’s successful integration of traditional and modern elements in preserving its heritage. Through continued cooperation and collaboration between Egypt and Oman, both countries can work together to preserve and promote their cultural legacies for generations to come.
