The Dubai Metro Music Festival is set to make a comeback this September, as announced by the Dubai Media Office. The festival will be held from September 21 to 27, with daily performances taking place at five major metro stations – Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, BurJuman, Union, and Dubai Multi Commodities Centre. These performances will run from 5pm to 10pm, showcasing talents of 20 musicians from the UAE and around the world, covering a range of instruments, genres, and styles.

Organized by Brand Dubai in partnership with the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), the festival will feature a diverse lineup of traditional and avant-garde musicians. From classical performers to fusion artists, commuters will witness a wide array of musical styles, including string, percussion, wind, and unique instruments made from everyday objects. The event aims to add a special touch to people’s daily commute by bringing live music performances to the metro stations.

This year’s festival will showcase a variety of instruments, including the Qanun, keyboard, drums, accordion, flute, violin, saxophone, piano, and more. Musicians will also perform on unique instruments like the balafon, keytar, marimba, darbuka, and homemade creations. The performances promise to be exciting and different from previous years, offering a unique experience for audiences both inside and outside the metro cabins.

Attendees can look forward to some standout performances, such as a nine-year-old prodigy playing the Qanun, a piano performance by a 14-year-old Emirati boy with autism, and a musical showcase featuring instruments made from recycled materials. Other highlights include beatboxing performances, puppet shows with live music, and a vibrant display of global rhythms. Additionally, the festival will cater to children with a unique drumming show and captivating drumming acts with light effects.

The Dubai Metro Music Festival aims to create a lively and engaging atmosphere at the metro stations, uniting music enthusiasts and commuters. With a focus on showcasing diverse talents and musical styles, the festival promises to offer something for everyone. By bringing live performances to the public space of metro stations, the event seeks to make music accessible to a wider audience and enhance the overall commuting experience for residents and visitors alike. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting musical event taking place in Dubai this September.
