The “Riyadh Light Festival 2024” is set to take place from November 28 to December 14 in various locations in Riyadh, showcasing more than 60 artworks by Saudi and international artists. This event is part of the “Riyadh Art” program, which is one of the “Four Grand Riyadh Projects” initiated by King Salman in 2019. The goal of these projects is to turn Riyadh into an open art gallery that combines tradition and modernity, aligning with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to promote arts in the capital city.

Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Farhan emphasized that the “Riyadh Light” celebration serves as an annual platform for leading artists to collaborate with national and international talents in creating light artworks that support the artistic and creative community in Riyadh. The event is also intended to elevate the city’s status on the global art scene map and enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors. This initiative aligns with the Saudi leadership’s commitment to supporting cultural and artistic programs, positioning Saudi Arabia at the forefront of the global art industry.

The “Riyadh Light 2024” festival will be overseen by a team of local and international art curators with experience in managing major art exhibitions worldwide. Among them are Dr. Alfredo Cramerotti, an international art curator, and Dr. Iffat Fadaaq, a Saudi art curator. Attendees can look forward to a range of artistic and creative light displays that will light up the Riyadh sky, creating a vibrant and engaging environment for art and culture enthusiasts from all walks of life in the city.

The theme for this year’s festival is “Between the Earth and the Pleiades,” promising a unique and immersive experience for attendees. The artworks on display will not only showcase the talent of the participating artists but also highlight the innovative nature of light art as a medium. From interactive installations to larger-than-life light sculptures, the event will offer something for everyone, making it a must-visit destination for art lovers and tourists alike.

In addition to the visual spectacle, the “Riyadh Light Festival 2024” will feature educational programs, workshops, and seminars to encourage dialogue and interaction among artists, art enthusiasts, and the general public. This interactive aspect of the festival aims to stimulate creativity, foster a sense of community, and provide a platform for emerging artists to showcase their work, contributing to the growth and development of the local art scene in Riyadh.

Overall, the “Riyadh Light Festival 2024” promises to be a celebration of creativity, innovation, and cultural exchange, enriching the artistic landscape of Riyadh and leaving a lasting impact on its residents and visitors. By bringing together diverse talents from Saudi Arabia and around the world, the event reflects the city’s commitment to nurturing a thriving arts community and establishing itself as a hub for artistic expression and exploration. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the magic of light art in the heart of Riyadh this November.
