Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka has announced that she is parting ways with her coach Wim Fissette. In an Instagram post, Osaka expressed her gratitude to Fissette for their four-year partnership, which included two Grand Slam titles and a lot of memories. Fissette coached Osaka from 2019 to 2022 and again in 2023 as she made her comeback to the game after the birth of her daughter.

Under Fissette’s guidance, Osaka won the US Open in 2020 and the Australian Open in 2021, as well as reaching the finals of the Cincinnati Open and the Miami Open. However, since her return to the WTA Tour earlier this year, Osaka has struggled to find consistent success. Her first-round win at the US Open was her first victory over a top-10 player in four years, and she was eliminated in the second round.

Osaka, who is currently ranked 75th in the world, has only reached two quarter-finals in 16 tournaments since her return to the tour. Despite her efforts and hard work, Osaka has been unable to translate that into positive results on the court. She acknowledges the challenges she has faced and the frustration that comes with not achieving the desired outcomes.

Despite the setbacks, Osaka remains determined and committed to improving her game. She acknowledges the need for a more mature attitude towards her defeats and continues to work hard to turn her efforts into results. Osaka’s dedication to her craft and her desire to succeed are evident, and she is optimistic that her hard work will pay off in the future.

As Osaka moves on from her partnership with Fissette, she is focused on her growth and development as a player. She remains hopeful for the future and is looking forward to new opportunities and challenges that lie ahead. With a renewed sense of purpose and determination, Osaka is ready to tackle whatever obstacles come her way and continue striving for success in the world of tennis.
