Residents of Dubai can now look forward to a more efficient and sustainable transport system with the addition of 300 new taxis to the Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) fleet. The announcement was made after DTC successfully secured 300 new plates at Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) auction, increasing its taxi fleet to nearly 6,000 vehicles. This expansion will not only improve the overall transport services in Dubai but also help meet the growing demand for sustainable and efficient transportation in the emirate, driven by the rapid population and economic growth.

With the addition of the new taxis, DTC’s taxi market share will increase to 46 percent, solidifying its position as a leading transport operator in Dubai. The CEO of Dubai Taxi Company, Mansoor Rahma Al Falasi, expressed his excitement about the fleet expansion strategy, which aims to reach nearly 9,000 vehicles by 2024 across all segments including taxis, limousines, buses, and motorcycles. This growth in the fleet size is expected to generate an additional Dh100 million in annual revenues for DTC, further solidifying its financial position.

In line with the company’s commitment to sustainability, 25 percent of the new plates will be allocated to electric taxis, showcasing DTC’s dedication to adopting innovative low-carbon mobility solutions. This initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy to support Dubai’s net zero emissions target by 2050, emphasizing its role in contributing to the city’s environmental goals. The investment in growth, innovation, and customer-centric solutions underscores DTC’s position as a forward-thinking and customer-focused transport operator in Dubai.

Residents are encouraged to stay updated with the latest news and developments by following KT on WhatsApp Channels, ensuring they are informed about the improvements and enhancements in the transport sector. The efficient and sustainable transport system in Dubai is vital for the city’s continued growth and development, facilitating the movement of residents, tourists, and goods across the emirate. With the addition of the new taxis, DTC aims to enhance the overall transport experience for customers, providing reliable and convenient services that cater to the evolving needs of Dubai’s diverse population.

The strategic expansion of DTC’s taxi fleet reflects the company’s vision to be a key player in the transportation sector, offering innovative solutions and sustainable alternatives to traditional modes of transport. As Dubai continues to grow and evolve, the importance of efficient and eco-friendly transport becomes paramount, and DTC’s efforts to incorporate electric taxis and other sustainable options align with the city’s broader environmental objectives. By investing in growth, innovation, and sustainability, DTC is setting a positive example for other transport operators, demonstrating the benefits of adopting forward-thinking strategies that benefit both the company and the community.
