The screening of the documentary ‘The Evidence’ on Israeli war crimes against Palestinians at the National Museum of Qatar was attended by Minister of State for International Cooperation, H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater. The event, co-organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Qatar Museums, drew a large turnout and included a panel discussion with the filmmakers. In his opening remarks, Director of MOFA’s Media and Communication Department emphasized the importance of standing for justice and reiterated Qatar’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause.

The documentary, produced by Anadolu Agency, sheds light on the crimes and violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza. The film aims to hold the perpetrators accountable and ensure that justice is served. This event was a testament to Qatar’s commitment to advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people, including their right to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital. The collaboration between Qatar Museums and the filmmakers underscores the importance of documenting these atrocities in the face of attempts to silence the Palestinian narrative in the media.

The panel discussion featured prominent figures such as CEO of Human Assistance and Development International, Mohammed Abdul Aleem, and the film’s director, Abdelkader Karakel. The discussion was moderated by Sami Hermez, Head of the Liberal Arts Program and Associate Professor in Residence of Anthropology at Northwestern University in Qatar. The panelists reiterated the importance of raising awareness about Israeli war crimes against Palestinians and ensuring that these violations do not go unpunished.

The event also served as a platform to highlight the need for international solidarity and support for the Palestinian cause. By showcasing ‘The Evidence’ at the National Museum of Qatar, the organizers aimed to spark meaningful conversations and raise awareness about the injustices faced by the Palestinian people. The documentary’s focus on documenting war crimes in Gaza underscores the urgent need for accountability and justice in the region.

The screening of ‘The Evidence’ at the National Museum of Qatar is a significant step towards amplifying the voices of Palestinians and shedding light on the human rights violations they face. By bringing together individuals from various backgrounds to discuss the documentary and its implications, the event fostered a sense of solidarity and support for the Palestinian cause. The collaboration between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar Museums, and the filmmakers demonstrates a shared commitment to advocating for justice and accountability in the face of Israeli aggression.

Overall, the screening of ‘The Evidence’ served as a reminder of the ongoing struggles of the Palestinian people and the need for global solidarity in supporting their quest for justice and freedom. The event was a powerful display of Qatar’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to amplifying the voices of those affected by conflict. Through initiatives like this documentary screening, Qatar continues to raise awareness about the plight of Palestinians and advocate for a just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
