The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia is urging all citizens and expatriates to get the seasonal influenza vaccine. They have introduced a convenient way to book vaccination appointments through the ‘Seasonal Influenza Vaccine’ service on the Sehhaty application. This vaccination service is being provided by health groups at primary healthcare centers in all regions of the Kingdom for those who have booked through the app. The ministry emphasized the importance of taking the vaccine annually due to the continuous changes in the virus.

It is recommended that elderly individuals take the seasonal vaccine to enhance their immunity against diseases and complications of severe infection. The ministry specifically highlighted groups that are most vulnerable to complications when infected with seasonal influenza. These groups include those with chronic diseases, individuals taking medications that weaken immunity, those aged 50 years and above, children between 6 months and 5 years, pregnant women, individuals with severe obesity, and healthcare workers. The ministry assures the public that the seasonal influenza vaccine is both safe and necessary, especially for these high-risk groups, as it is highly effective in reducing the risk of severe complications and death resulting from the virus.

In addition to getting vaccinated, the Ministry of Health emphasized the importance of taking preventive measures against seasonal influenza. These measures include regular hand washing, avoiding direct contact with the eyes and mouth, using tissues when sneezing or coughing, and maintaining cleanliness in the environment. By taking these precautions and getting vaccinated, individuals can significantly reduce their risk of developing severe symptoms and protect their families from potential infection and complications.

By encouraging more people to get vaccinated, the Ministry of Health aims to increase the overall number of vaccinated individuals, reduce the rate of infections, and decrease the number of hospitalizations due to seasonal influenza. Through their ongoing efforts, the ministry is working towards creating a healthier environment for all residents in Saudi Arabia by promoting the importance of vaccination and preventive measures against seasonal influenza. It is important for individuals to take the necessary steps to protect themselves and their loved ones from the risks associated with the virus.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia is actively promoting the seasonal influenza vaccine to all citizens and expatriates. By booking vaccination appointments through the Sehhaty application and following preventive measures, individuals can protect themselves and their families from the risks of seasonal influenza. It is crucial for high-risk groups to prioritize getting vaccinated to enhance their immunity and reduce the risk of severe complications. Through collective efforts, the ministry aims to create a safer and healthier environment for all residents in the Kingdom. Stay informed, stay healthy, and remember to get your seasonal influenza vaccine.
