The 2024 Race to Dubai is anticipated to be an exciting event for fans of golf as Tommy Fleetwood, the Olympic silver medallist, is set to compete in the DP World Tour Championship from November 14-17. Fleetwood, who is currently ranked number 11 in the world, will be joining Rory McIlroy at the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates for this prestigious event. The English golfer has previously enjoyed success in the UAE, winning three of his seven DP World Tour titles in the region. His accomplishments include back-to-back wins at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 2017 and 2018, as well as winning the season-long Race to Dubai in 2017.

Fleetwood recently achieved a silver medal for Great Britain at the Paris Olympics, standing on the podium alongside world number one Scottie Scheffler and Major winner Hideki Matsuyama. Following his Olympic success, Fleetwood will spend two weeks in the UAE, confirming his participation in the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, which is the first event of the DP World Tour Play-offs. This new two-event series will also include the season-ending DP World Tour Championship, where the top 70 available players will compete at Yas Links in Abu Dhabi before the top 50 players move on to Dubai for the dramatic conclusion of the season.

As a seven-time DP World Tour winner, Fleetwood expressed his excitement at being part of the Race to Dubai and competing in the DP World Tour Play-offs. He emphasized the importance of the UAE in his career, citing his previous successes in Abu Dhabi and Dubai as inspiring moments. Having opened The DP World Golf Performance Centre at Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai in 2022, Fleetwood is committed to growing grassroots golf in the region and globally. He was named a DP World Global Ambassador, representing the partnership and helping to expand the game of golf with his academy.

The DP World Tour Championship is expected to draw crowds as the event offers free general admission tickets for Thursday and Friday. This tournament provides a fantastic day out for fans, combining world-class golf with a variety of activities and experiences. The vibrant village at the championship features dedicated activations for children, free golf lessons for all ages, Ladies Day celebrations, trick-shot shows, large screens for enhanced viewing, and engaging sports activations. With Fleetwood’s participation and the exciting lineup of events, the 2024 Race to Dubai promises to be a thrilling competition for golf enthusiasts.
