The horse show season in Doha, Qatar will feature 12 exciting events from October 2024 to April 2025. The Qatar Racing and Equestrian Club (QREC) recently announced the local Arabian horse show season programme which will include a mix of national and international events. The season will begin just before the new racing season kicks off on October 16, with events taking place at Al Rayyan and Al Uqda racecourses. Major studs and farms from Qatar and overseas will be participating in the horse show programme, showcasing their top horses.
The Start of Season Auction will mark the beginning of the new season on October 10, followed by the fourth Qatar Arabian Horse Breeders Cup from October 24 to 26. October will also feature the 4th Qatar Arabian Horse Show for Local Bred horses. In November, there will be two shows including the Al Shaqab International Arabian Horse Show and the Qatar National Arabian Horse Show. The first Al Rayyan National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show will also take place in November, showcasing the talents of Arabian horses from the region.
QREC Director of Arabian Horse Shows Majid Al Kaabi emphasized the importance of thorough preparations for the upcoming season, with a focus on providing ample opportunities for Qatari owners, individuals, studs, and farms to participate in the shows. The programme has been carefully designed to cater to various categories and ensure the diversity of shows throughout the season. International shows will also play a significant role in the programme, with events such as the Doha International Arabian Horse Show, the Souq Waqif International Arabian Horse Show, and the Katara International Arabian Peninsula Horse Show scheduled for January 2025.
The Global Champions Arabians Tour will be a highlight event in February 2025, showcasing top Arabian horses from around the world. The season will conclude in April with the 13th Qatar National Arabian Horse Show and the 10th Qatar National Arabian Peninsula Horse Show. The End of Season Auction on April 17 will mark the end of the exciting horse show season, with hopes of continued success and leadership in the field of Arabian horse shows for Qatar. The country has been a pioneer in organizing such shows in the Arab region, setting a high standard for excellence in the equestrian world.
