The National Centre of Meteorology has issued a red alert for fog that will cause a drop in horizontal visibility in the UAE. The alert is in effect from 3.55am till 8.30am on September 7th. A red alert indicates that residents must take action as hazardous weather events of exceptional severity are forecasted. Prior to the red alert, a yellow alert was also issued by the weather department. It is important to stay updated with the latest news and follow official reports during such weather conditions.

The NCM has advised the public to avoid spreading rumors and follow safety measures while driving in foggy conditions. Some safety measures include maintaining a safe distance between vehicles, not turning on hazard lights, keeping to the posted speed limit, and staying in your lane. Abu Dhabi Police has also reminded motorists to be cautious and adhere to changing speed limits displayed on boards. The speed limits on external roads in Abu Dhabi have now resumed normal levels after being revised to 80kmph on some parts of Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road.

According to the NCM’s forecast, the weather is expected to be fair in general with partly cloudy skies at times. Convective clouds may form towards the east and south by afternoon, with a probability of rainfall. The humidity is expected to be high, reaching up to 90% in internal regions, coastal areas, and islands, while dropping to as low as 15% in the mountains. Light to moderate winds will be blowing, freshening at times and causing blowing dust during the daytime. The sea conditions will be slight in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.

It is important for residents to take necessary precautions during foggy weather conditions and follow safety guidelines while on the roads. Staying updated with the latest news and official reports can help individuals prepare for any changes in weather conditions. Additionally, being aware of the speed limits and following road regulations can help prevent accidents and ensure safe driving practices. By following these guidelines, residents can ensure their safety and the safety of others while navigating through foggy conditions.

Overall, it is crucial to stay informed about the weather conditions and take necessary precautions when driving in fog. Following safety measures, maintaining a safe driving distance, and adhering to speed limits can help prevent accidents and ensure a smooth driving experience. By staying updated with official reports and weather forecasts, residents can stay prepared and make informed decisions while traveling in foggy weather. Proper preparation and vigilance are key to staying safe during hazardous weather conditions like fog.
