Sharjah is set to redefine sports infrastructure with a new Sports City that features a cutting-edge cooling system. The announcement, made by the Ruler of Sharjah, highlights the inclusion of air-conditioned seats with cooling pipes to create a comfortable environment for spectators and players. This development aims to set a new benchmark in sports facility design, providing a unique and innovative experience for all involved.

In a significant advancement for sports infrastructure, Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, member of the Executive Council and Head of The Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW), revealed that the Ruler of Sharjah has officially approved the designs for the Sports City. The highly anticipated project will be strategically connected by four major roads, with a central square development at its core. The Ruler of Sharjah, Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, personally sketched the designs, ensuring a cohesive and well-planned layout for the complex.

The grandstand at the heart of the Sports City has also received approval from Sheikh Sultan, serving as the nucleus of the complex. Surrounding the grandstand are four state-of-the-art sports complexes designed to accommodate various sports activities, both team-based and individual. The design of the sports city’s stands is unique, resembling a falcon flying over sand dunes, symbolizing the attributes of an athlete such as physical strength, speed, and focus.

In addition to the Sports City, ongoing efforts are being made to develop and expand Sharjah’s sports clubs, showcasing the emirate’s dedication to creating world-class sports venues. The Ruler also highlighted plans for new sports institutions dedicated to women, further enhancing the emirate’s sports facilities and fostering an inclusive environment for athletes and fans. This project underscores Sharjah’s commitment to excellence in sports infrastructure and creating a conducive environment for sporting activities.

Overall, Sharjah’s new Sports City represents a significant step towards redefining sports infrastructure in the region. With its cutting-edge cooling system, innovative design, and strategic layout, the project aims to set a new benchmark for sports facility design. The Ruler’s personal involvement in sketching the designs highlights the importance of this project for the emirate, emphasizing the commitment to creating world-class sports venues and supporting athletes of all levels. This initiative also showcases Sharjah’s dedication to inclusivity and diversity in sports, with plans for new sports institutions dedicated to women further enriching the sports landscape of the emirate.
