The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) recently conducted 1,820 inspection campaigns and visits from 25 to 31 August 2024, resulting in the detention of 48 violating and irregular workers, with 150 violators being deported. These campaigns also uncovered various violations related to the Labour Market Regulatory Authority and Residency Laws in Bahrain, leading to legal action being taken against the offenders.
During this period, 1,808 inspection visits were carried out on shops across all governorates, along with 12 joint inspection campaigns involving multiple government entities. The participating agencies included the Ministry of Interior, Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA), the General Directorate of Civil Defense, and various other bodies. These joint efforts aim to address practices that harm the stability and competitiveness of the labour market and negatively impact the economic and social security of Bahrain.
The LMRA emphasized the importance of continued coordination with government agencies to conduct effective inspection campaigns throughout the Kingdom.
