Three Emirati women are shaping Dubai’s economic growth and development at the Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) through strategic initiatives. Fatma Almarri, as the manager of the investor office at Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC), is instrumental in implementing the Golden Visa initiative to make Dubai the world’s best city to visit, live, work, and invest in. Working alongside influential leaders has been crucial for her professional growth, and she credits her mother as her biggest role model and support system.

Maryam Mohammed Abdullah, a senior inspector at the Dubai Corporation for Consumer Protection and Fair Trade (DCCPFT), ensures consumer and business protection, contributing to economic stability. She credits DET’s training programs for enhancing her skills and empowering her to make tangible impacts. Like Fatma, Maryam acknowledges her mother’s role in shaping her resilience and positive outlook, and encourages other young Emirati women to continue learning and expanding their skills for the prosperity of their country.

Iman Haidar, a senior manager in the VIP and advisory services team at Dubai Business Registration and Licensing Corporation (DBLC), has been with DET for two decades. She has led projects like trade license auto-renewal service, Invest in Dubai, and Services 360, showcasing her leadership abilities. Mentorship from top leaders at DET has empowered her to make significant contributions, and she encourages younger Emirati women to focus on education, ambition, hard work, and making a positive impact in their communities.

These three women exemplify the growth and empowerment opportunities available for Emirati women in Dubai through strategic roles at DET. Their dedication to driving economic stability, ensuring consumer protection, and enhancing business development highlights the importance of women in key positions within the emirate’s economic landscape. DET’s comprehensive training programs, mentorship opportunities, and support systems have played a vital role in shaping these women’s professional journeys and enabling them to excel in their respective fields. By inspiring other young Emirati women to pursue education, ambition, and skill development, they are paving the way for a brighter future for women’s leadership in Dubai’s economy.
