The Saudi Astronomy and Astrophysics Team recently returned home after achieving great success at the International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The team managed to secure three bronze medals among tough competition that included over 250 students from 53 countries. The Kingdom’s medal winners were Joud Basim Hamdan Al-Lahyani, Hussein Hassan bin Mohammed Al-Mubarak, and Fajr Hassan bin Ali Al-Ubaidan, all talented students from various education directorates in Saudi Arabia.
