A major project to rebuild, renovate, rehabilitate, and maintain nearly half of the mosques in the second constituency of Muharraq Governorate is set to begin soon. MP Hamad Al Doy has announced that the project has been approved after continuous follow-up and correspondence with relevant authorities. The project will be carried out in two phases, with the first phase focusing on rebuilding several mosques and the second phase on renovating and maintaining others.

The project will cover 7 out of the 15 mosques in the constituency, with mosques like Bukawara Mosque, Al Qamra Mosque, and Bin Shida Mosque slated for complete demolition and reconstruction. Additionally, Tariq bin Ziyad Mosque and Bin Nayem Mosque will undergo maintenance, while Quba Mosque and Bin Matar Al Shamali Mosque will be renovated. MP Al Doy expects the project to start soon and hopes for its completion to the highest standards in the shortest possible time.

The efforts of the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Mawda, in serving the mosques and ensuring their upkeep and preservation were praised by Al Doy. He also expressed gratitude to Dr Shaikh Rashid bin Mohammed Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Administration, for the tireless efforts of the Endowments in fulfilling their roles. Additionally, two other mosques in the constituency, Bin Hindi Mosque and Isa bin Ali Al Kaber Mosque, are currently being demolished and rebuilt.

In total, 9 out of the 15 mosques in the constituency are scheduled for rebuilding and renovation, representing approximately 60% of the mosques. The project is a significant initiative aimed at improving the infrastructure and facilities of the mosques in the area. It demonstrates the commitment of the authorities to preserving the religious and cultural heritage of the region and providing a conducive environment for worshippers.

The upcoming project is expected to enhance the spiritual and community aspects of the mosques, providing a modern and comfortable space for worship and gatherings. The completion of the project will not only benefit the local residents but also contribute to the overall development and beautification of the constituency. It will also showcase the government’s dedication to supporting religious institutions and meeting the needs of the community.

Overall, the project to rebuild, renovate, rehabilitate, and maintain mosques in the second constituency of Muharraq Governorate is a significant step towards preserving the cultural and religious heritage of the region. The efforts of the authorities and stakeholders involved in the project highlight their commitment to ensuring the well-being and comfort of worshippers. Once completed, the renovated mosques will provide a modern and welcoming space for prayer and community activities, contributing to the overall development and enhancement of the area.
