The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has announced measures for Indian expats in the emirate to benefit from the two-month amnesty scheme starting from September 1. Expats can visit any BLS centre in Abu Dhabi without prior appointment to apply for travel documents. An emergency certificate (EC) will be issued for those wishing to return to India. ECs can be collected from the Consular Office at the Embassy of India between 4 pm and 6 pm within 24 hours of submission. Expats can also regularize their residency status by applying for a short-validity passport at BLS centres, which will be operational on all Sundays during the amnesty period from 9 am to 5 pm.

The embassy stated that applicants can approach BLS centres in Al Reem, Musaffah, and Al Ain as walk-ins without requiring an appointment. This convenience allows expats to avail themselves of the amnesty scheme without the hassle of scheduling an appointment in advance. The measures aim to facilitate the process for Indian expats to obtain travel documents or regularize their residency status during the two-month amnesty period. By simplifying the application process, the Indian Embassy seeks to assist expats in resolving any documentation issues they may have while residing in the UAE.

During the two-month amnesty period, the embassy is focused on assisting Indian expats in Abu Dhabi with the necessary documentation to either return to India or regularize their residency status. The issuance of emergency certificates and short-validity passports is a key part of the process to ensure that expats have the required travel documents. By providing these services at various BLS centres in the emirate, the embassy is making it easier for expats to access the support they need to comply with immigration regulations and ensure their legal status in the UAE.

For expats seeking to return to India, the embassy is issuing emergency certificates that can be collected from the Consular Office at the Embassy of India in Abu Dhabi. These certificates are essential for expats who need to travel urgently and do not have a valid passport. By offering this service, the embassy is facilitating the safe return of Indian expats to their home country during the amnesty period. The accessibility of the emergency certificate collection process ensures that expats can receive the necessary travel documents promptly and without any additional delays.

To provide further assistance and information to expats, the embassy has established a dedicated contact number for inquiries related to the procedures. By offering a direct line of communication, expats can easily access the information they need to navigate the amnesty process effectively. The embassy’s commitment to supporting expats during this period extends to providing clear guidance and communication channels to address any queries or concerns that individuals may have. With the availability of the dedicated contact number, expats can seek clarification on the procedures and requirements for obtaining travel documents or regularizing their residency status.

In conclusion, the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi has implemented measures to facilitate Indian expats’ participation in the two-month amnesty scheme. By allowing walk-ins at BLS centres and issuing emergency certificates and short-validity passports, the embassy is enabling expats to resolve their documentation issues efficiently. The operational hours of the BLS centres on Sundays during the amnesty period further enhance accessibility for expats seeking assistance. Through these initiatives, the embassy aims to support expats in complying with immigration regulations and ensuring their legal status in the UAE. Expats are encouraged to take advantage of these services and reach out to the embassy for any additional information or inquiries during the amnesty period.
