The UAE experienced mixed weather on Tuesday, August 27, with some regions witnessing hail, rain, and dusty conditions as temperatures soared to 50.7°C. Al Ain in Abu Dhabi faced heavy to moderate rainfall, with reports of hail over Khatm Al Shiklah and Malaqit areas. Heavy rain was also reported in Al Dhahrah and Um Ghafah. UAE’s weather-related social media account Storm Centre shared videos of hail and heavy rain in Khatm Al Shiklah and Malaqit, capturing the intense weather conditions. The weather department issued an orange alert for convective clouds from 6pm to 10pm on the same day. Dusty conditions were also observed in parts of Dubai, adding to the weather anomalies of the day.

The National Centre of Meterology (NCM) reported heavy rain in Al Ain, with hail sightings over Khatm Al Shiklah and Malaqit areas. The inclement weather was visible in videos shared by Storm Centre, showcasing the hail pelting down and heavy rain combined with low visibility due to windy conditions. An orange alert was issued for convective clouds during the evening hours to caution residents about the potential weather hazards. The presence of dusty conditions in Dubai added to the weather challenges faced by the region, making it a day of mixed weather occurrences.

Residents of the UAE were advised to stay informed about the constantly changing weather conditions through reliable sources like Storm Centre and NCM. Videos and images shared on social media highlighted the extent of the hail and heavy rain in certain areas, emphasizing the need for caution during such weather events. The orange alert for convective clouds indicated the potential for further disruptions in the evening, prompting residents to stay updated and prepared for any weather-related developments. The dusty conditions observed in Dubai served as a reminder of the diverse weather patterns that could affect the region at any given time.

As per the NCM warning, motorists were cautioned about poor visibility due to fog formation, which could pose risks on the roads. The red alert issued by the weather department signaled a deterioration in horizontal visibility, urging drivers to exercise caution and adopt safe driving practices during the challenging weather conditions. With the weather presenting a combination of rain, hail, dust, and poor visibility, residents were urged to prioritize safety, stay informed, and follow any official alerts or advisories issued by the relevant authorities. The day’s weather events served as a reminder of the unpredictable nature of weather and the importance of being prepared for any sudden changes.
