The Sultanate of Oman’s Ministry of Labour has made significant progress in its employment plan for the first half of 2024. A total of 14,074 Omani citizens have found jobs in both the public and private sectors during this period. Over 50% of the employed individuals were securing their first jobs, indicating that the ministry is successful in helping newcomers to the workforce. Specifically, the ministry aims to employ 10,000 job seekers in the government sector, with 6,963 jobs already completed, and 16,000 job seekers in the private sector, with 7,111 jobs already completed.

In addition to providing employment opportunities, the ministry is also focusing on training individuals to improve their employability. During the first half of the year, a total of 1,412 employees underwent training, with a completion rate of 16%. The government sector received 305 trainees, while the private sector received 1,107 trainees. The ministry aims to accommodate 2,000 trainees in the government sector and 7,000 trainees in the private sector throughout the year. This focus on training is crucial in ensuring that job seekers have the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the workforce.

Overall, the ministry aims to employ and train 35,000 job seekers during the year, with 15,486 jobs and training opportunities already completed, resulting in a completion rate of 44.25%. These efforts are part of the Ministry of Labour’s broader strategy to boost employment in Oman and provide opportunities for its citizens. By focusing on both job creation and training, the ministry is working towards creating a more skilled and competitive workforce that can contribute to the country’s development and growth.

The positive results of the ministry’s efforts are evident in the number of job seekers who have found employment and undergone training. The completion rates for both job creation and training opportunities show that the ministry is on track to meet its goals for the year. By prioritizing employment and training, the ministry is not only helping individuals secure jobs but also equipping them with the skills they need to succeed in the workforce. This holistic approach to addressing unemployment is essential in ensuring the long-term prosperity and growth of Oman’s economy.

In conclusion, the Ministry of Labour’s employment plan for the first half of 2024 in Oman has been successful in providing job opportunities and training opportunities for its citizens. With over 14,000 job seekers finding employment and over 1,400 employees undergoing training, the ministry is making significant progress towards its goal of employing and training 35,000 job seekers throughout the year. By focusing on job creation and training, the ministry is not only addressing unemployment but also building a more skilled and competitive workforce that can contribute to Oman’s economic development and growth.
