The United Arab Emirates has issued a significant statement to the United Nations Security Council, urging urgent action to prevent famine in Sudan and supporting initiatives for a ceasefire and a return to civilian government. The UAE has commended the efforts of Uganda, key African Union officials, and regional leaders in ending the crisis. Additionally, they have joined the African Union Peace and Security Council’s call for the warring factions in Sudan to participate in a political dialogue process in Addis Ababa.

The UAE has emphasized the importance of allowing humanitarian relief to reach civilians in need and has called for increased support from the international community to address the crisis in Sudan. The UAE remains committed to working with partners towards a peaceful resolution and encourages all parties to engage positively in the political process. They have reiterated their support for efforts to de-escalate tensions, implement a ceasefire, and restore a legitimate government representative of all Sudanese people.

Furthermore, the UAE has refuted fabricated allegations made by the Sudan Armed Forces against the UAE, providing evidence to counter these claims. They have debunked claims related to the supply of arms and military equipment to warring parties, highlighting their support for Sudan’s peace and stability efforts prior to the conflict. The UAE has stressed that the allegations made by the Sudanese representatives are baseless fabrications without any substantiating evidence.

The statement also underscores the deep-rooted relations between the UAE and Sudan and the support provided by the UAE to the Sudanese people. Despite the challenges posed by the conflict, the UAE has continued to offer humanitarian aid to Sudan, including establishing field hospitals near the Chad-Sudan border. Additionally, the UAE has signed new agreements with the UN to increase aid for Sudan, demonstrating their ongoing commitment to alleviating the suffering in Sudan.

Moving forward, the UAE will continue to advocate for an end to the conflict in Sudan through the UN and work towards dispelling misinformation that hinders progress towards resolving the crisis. The UAE remains steadfast in its support for peace initiatives and aims to contribute positively to achieving stability and prosperity for the Sudanese people. The UAE’s efforts underscore its commitment to humanitarian assistance and diplomacy in addressing the complex challenges facing Sudan.
