WHO delegation to visit the Northern Governorate

The Northern Governorate in Bahrain is excited to welcome a delegation from the World Health Organization (WHO) as it aims to be recognized as a “Healthy Governorate.” Governor Ali bin Shaikh Abdul Hussain Al Asfoor is focused on showcasing the governorate’s achievements in various initiatives under the “Healthy Cities” program during the upcoming visit. These initiatives include preventive programs like the mosquito control campaign and projects promoting social cohesion such as the “Bayoot Al Khair” project.

In a recent meeting with officials, Governor Al Asfoor highlighted the successes of the Northern Governorate in implementing preventive programs and initiatives that support the “Healthy Cities” program’s goals of improving the environmental landscape. He emphasized the importance of continuing with the mosquito control campaign in the first constituency of the Northern Governorate and the Souq Waqif area. Additionally, preparations for the upcoming eighth edition of the “Rabeh Al Akbar” competition’s closing ceremony were discussed during the meeting.

The Northern Governorate is committed to showcasing its efforts in promoting health and well-being in the community to the WHO delegation during their upcoming visit. Governor Al Asfoor has instructed officials to prepare a schedule of field visits to highlight the various initiatives and projects that have been implemented in the governorate. This includes the mosquito control campaign, which has been successful in controlling the spread of mosquitoes in the area, as well as the “Bayoot Al Khair” project that focuses on promoting social cohesion.

The WHO delegation’s visit will provide an opportunity for the Northern Governorate to be recognized for its efforts in becoming a “Healthy Governorate” and for its commitment to improving the overall health and well-being of its residents.
