The UAE experienced dense fog formation on Tuesday morning, leading to slow-moving traffic in certain areas. The Meteorological Department issued red and yellow alerts for severe fog and reduced visibility due to mist and fog. Authorities advised motorists to exercise caution, adhere to speed limits displayed on electronic boards, and implemented a speed reduction system on major roads in Abu Dhabi.

The National Meteorological Centre reported fog in various key areas, including Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Locations affected included regions near Al Maktoum International Airport, Expo, Jebel Ali, Al Minhad, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road, Al Mirfa, Al Ruwais, Habshan, and Al Khaznah. Additionally, fog was observed on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road and other areas.

The NCM warned of further deterioration in visibility over coastal and internal areas from 1 am to 9 am on Tuesday. Motorists should expect traffic congestion and reduced speed limits due to the foggy conditions. This weather change also signals the end of summer in the region, with temperatures gradually decreasing throughout September.

Residents can anticipate rain and thunder in some parts of the UAE during September, with cumulonimbus clouds forming in eastern areas. The forecast suggests rain at varying intensities in different internal regions as the month progresses. Despite the foggy conditions, the weather will be fair to partly cloudy with increasing humidity at night and into Wednesday morning, along with light to moderate winds.

In terms of temperatures, Abu Dhabi and Dubai are expected to see temperatures around 42℃ and 41℃, respectively, with humidity levels ranging from 25 to 90 per cent. The sea conditions in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea are expected to be slight. Motorists and residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and drive carefully during foggy weather to ensure their safety on the roads.
