The UAE government has launched a two-month amnesty program, providing an opportunity for individuals who have overstayed in the country to return to their home countries with assistance from various consulates, including the Consulate General of India in Dubai. Indian nationals seeking to return to India can benefit from the emergency certificates (ECs) offered by the consulate free of charge. Facilitation counters have been set up at the Indian Consulate in Dubai and at the Awir Immigration Centre to assist applicants in obtaining ECs. These counters will be operational from September 2, 2024, with working hours from 8am to 6pm, and applicants can collect their ECs from the consulate between 2pm and 4pm the following day.

For individuals looking to regularize their residency status, short validity passports are available through BLS Centres in Dubai and the Northern Emirates. To accommodate applicants, these centres will accept walk-in applications without requiring prior appointments, and will remain open on all Sundays from 9am to 5pm throughout the amnesty period. To ensure that Indian nationals have access to the necessary information and assistance, the consulate has provided dedicated helpline numbers – 050-9433111, operational from 8am to 6pm, and the PBSK Helpline at 800-46342, available 24/7 for further inquiries.

Overall, the Consulate General of India in Dubai has put in place measures and helpline numbers to assist Indian nationals taking advantage of the UAE’s amnesty program. By offering Emergency Certificates (ECs) free of charge and setting up facilitation counters, the consulate aims to support overstayers who wish to return to India. Additionally, the availability of short validity passports through BLS Centres and extended opening hours on Sundays during the amnesty period further facilitate the regularization process for Indian nationals. The provision of dedicated helpline numbers ensures that individuals have access to timely information and assistance throughout the amnesty program.

The launch of the UAE’s two-month amnesty program provides a crucial opportunity for individuals who have overstayed in the country to rectify their residency status and return to their home countries. The Consulate General of India in Dubai has taken proactive steps to assist Indian nationals in this process by offering Emergency Certificates (ECs) free of charge and setting up facilitation counters for applicants. By providing access to short validity passports through BLS Centres and extending operating hours during the amnesty period, the consulate aims to streamline the regularization process and support Indian nationals seeking to avail of the amnesty program.

With the UAE government’s amnesty program now in effect, the Consulate General of India in Dubai has implemented various measures to facilitate the return of Indian nationals who have overstayed in the country. The provision of Emergency Certificates (ECs) free of charge, facilitation counters at key locations, and the availability of short validity passports through BLS Centres underscore the consulate’s commitment to assisting individuals in regularizing their residency status. By offering dedicated helpline numbers for assistance and inquiries, the consulate ensures that Indian nationals have access to timely information and support throughout the duration of the amnesty program, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the initiative.

In conclusion, the UAE’s amnesty program offers a valuable opportunity for individuals, including Indian nationals, to rectify their residency status and comply with immigration regulations. The proactive measures taken by the Consulate General of India in Dubai, such as providing free Emergency Certificates (ECs), setting up facilitation counters, and offering assistance through dedicated helpline numbers, demonstrate the consulate’s commitment to supporting Indian nationals during the amnesty period. By streamlining the regularization process and ensuring accessibility to necessary services, the consulate plays a crucial role in facilitating the smooth repatriation of overstayers back to their home country.
