Bayanat, a subsidiary of G42 and a leading provider of AI-powered geospatial solutions, recently launched the Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite, named “Foresight-1.” This launch solidifies the UAE’s global leadership in the space sector, as it marks the first satellite of the UAE’s Earth Observation Space Programme. Since the inception of the Earth Observation Space Programme in 2023, Bayanat and Yahsat have been implementing a strategic plan for the Earth Observation System, starting with the Foresight-1 satellite. Al Hosani mentioned that following the successful launch of Foresight-1, they are now equipped to operate space assets that can cross over the Middle East region repeatedly and rapidly. Foresight-1’s unique feature lies in its ability to provide continuous high-resolution monitoring solutions using SAR technology. Unlike traditional optical imaging satellites, SAR satellites can capture images day or night regardless of weather conditions or sunlight reflection, offering enhanced geospatial solutions, disaster management, marine monitoring, and smart mobility applications.
