The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology recently celebrated the successful completion of the “Successful” (Najih) program by the last batch of trainees. The ceremony took place at the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) in Muscat. A total of 24 trainees completed the program, with 14 specializing in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning, and 10 in Systems Engineering and Development. The ceremony included a presentation on the “AI cardiac magnetic resonance imaging project”, which was submitted by the trainees and implemented at the Royal Hospital.

During the event, a workshop was conducted on the outcomes of the “National Initiative for Digital Skills Qualification” (Makeen). The workshop featured a visual presentation highlighting the initiative’s goal of familiarizing Omani youth with the digital skills most in demand in the market. The initiative aims to provide essential digital skills to various sectors of the national economy to meet the development requirements of Oman. Faisal Abdullah Al Rawas, Chairman of the Board of Directors of OCCI, presided over the ceremony and emphasized the importance of initiatives like Makeen in advancing the country’s digital capabilities.

The training program, which was organized by the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology in collaboration with Axeed Company, focused on AI, machine learning, engineering, and system development. The six-month program aimed to equip participants with the necessary skills to succeed in the digital age. The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Ali Amer Al Shidhani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Information Technology for Communications and Information Technology, along with business owners and company representatives.

By providing specialized training in cutting-edge technologies such as AI and machine learning, the Successful program is helping to prepare a new generation of digital professionals in Oman. The initiative not only enhances the skills and knowledge of participants but also contributes to the overall development of the country’s digital infrastructure. Through partnerships with industry experts and educational institutions, the program ensures that trainees receive practical, hands-on experience in their chosen fields, preparing them for successful careers in the digital sector.

The National Initiative for Digital Skills Qualification (Makeen) plays a crucial role in identifying and prioritizing the digital skills needed in today’s job market. By offering training programs tailored to these specific skill sets, Makeen ensures that Omani youth are well-prepared to meet the demands of the digital economy. The visual presentation at the workshop highlighted the importance of continuous learning and upskilling in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. By championing initiatives like Makeen, Oman is positioning itself as a leader in digital innovation and fostering a culture of lifelong learning among its workforce.

Overall, the ceremony marking the completion of the Successful program and the workshop on Makeen showcased Oman’s commitment to investing in digital skills and technology. By equipping its citizens with the tools and knowledge needed to succeed in the digital age, Oman is laying the foundation for a prosperous future driven by innovation and technology. Initiatives like Successful and Makeen are paving the way for a more digitally literate and competitive workforce, ensuring that Oman remains at the forefront of technological advancement in the region.
