Transport Minister holds a meeting with ICAO Council President

Minister of Transport H E Jassim Saif Ahmed Al Sulaiti recently met with ICAO Council President H E Salvatore Sciacchitano to discuss enhancing Qatar-ICAO relations in civil aviation. The meeting focused on key air transportation facilitation issues and ways to contribute to environmental protection and carbon emissions mitigation research and development. Also in attendance were Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri, Essa Abdulla Al Malki, and Mohamed Khalifa Rahma.

ICAO, or the International Civil Aviation Organisation, is a specialized agency of the United Nations that works to promote global aviation safety and security. Qatar has been working closely with ICAO to enhance their relationship in the field of civil aviation. This meeting between Minister Al Sulaiti and President Sciacchitano is a reflection of the ongoing collaboration between Qatar and ICAO.

The officials discussed various ways to improve air transportation facilitation in Qatar, as well as globally. This includes addressing key issues such as improving airport security measures, streamlining air traffic control systems, and enhancing passenger and cargo facilitation processes. By working together with ICAO, Qatar aims to enhance its civil aviation capabilities and contribute to the global aviation industry.

Furthermore, the meeting focused on environmental protection issues and carbon emissions mitigation research and development. The attendees at the meeting included key officials from both Qatar and ICAO. Mohammed Faleh Al Hajri, who oversees the Qatar Civil Aviation Authority, Essa Abdulla Al Malki, the Permanent Representative of Qatar on the ICAO Council, and Mohamed Khalifa Rahma, the Director of the Air Transport Bureau at ICAO, were all present. Their presence highlights the importance of this meeting and the commitment of both parties to strengthening their relationship and collaboration in the field of civil aviation.
