The third edition of the Katara Space Science Program began on August 20 at the Al Thuraya Planetarium in Katara, Qatar. This three-day event is a collaboration between the Cultural Village Foundation-Katara and MAPS International, and will run until August 22. Dr. Khalid bin Ibrahim Al Sulaiti, General Manager of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara), expressed his excitement for this successful program that aims to educate students and researchers on space sciences.

Dr. Al Sulaiti emphasized the importance of the program in providing a platform for students and researchers to expand their knowledge about space sciences. He mentioned that professional space professors and scientists will be sharing their experiences and knowledge during this event. The goal is to inspire young individuals to pursue scientific research, innovation, and excellence in the field of space sciences.

Additionally, Dr. Al Sulaiti noted that the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) is dedicated to preparing a new generation equipped with cultural and scientific knowledge. The foundation strives to promote openness to sciences, especially space science, through the use of state-of-the-art digital technologies at Al Thuraya Planetarium. This allows individuals who are interested in space and astronomy to engage in interactive activities and shows that enhance their understanding of modern sciences.

The Al Thuraya Planetarium offers a variety of activities and shows throughout the year for visitors of all ages to explore and learn about astronomy. The program includes three-day interactive scientific activities scheduled between 3pm and 9pm, providing participants with a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in conversations with experts and gain valuable insights into space sciences, including the James Webb Space Telescope and observing stars through telescopes.

Moreover, the program includes a space art exhibition that showcases the work of 21 artists inspired by space science and meteorology. This blend of art and science offers a unique perspective on space exploration. The event also features experts in astronomy science such as Dr. Mashhoor Ahmad Salameh Alwardat from the University of Sharjah, Dr. Rene Doyon from the Canadian Space Agency, and Jim Adams, former NASA Deputy Director of Planetary Division. These experts will share their knowledge and experiences with attendees, further enriching their understanding of space sciences.

In conclusion, the Katara Space Science Program is a valuable initiative that provides students, researchers, and the public with an opportunity to engage in educational and interactive activities related to space sciences. The collaboration between the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) and MAPS International has created a platform for individuals to learn from professional space professors and scientists, fostering a passion for scientific research and innovation. Through the use of state-of-the-art digital technologies at Al Thuraya Planetarium, participants can broaden their knowledge horizons and develop a deeper understanding of modern sciences.
