Bahrain’s commitment to democracy has been highlighted by Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Salman Al-Musallam in a statement marking the International Day of Democracy. He emphasized His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s vision in advancing Bahrain’s democratic practices, strengthening the rule of law, civic participation, and institutional governance. Since the launch of the National Action Charter, Bahrain has made significant progress in developing a democratic model based on the separation of powers and effective cooperation between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.

Al-Musallam noted the importance of this framework in enabling Bahrain to achieve stability and foster broader public participation in governance, leading to the country’s overall development. He stressed that Bahrain’s approach to democracy is characterized by a commitment to inclusive governance, ensuring that laws and policies are implemented following constitutional principles. The lawmaker also mentioned Bahrain’s continued commitment to democratic development in its sixth legislative term, focusing on cooperation with the government to serve national interests and safeguard progress.

Shura Council Chairman Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh also emphasized Bahrain’s commitment to democracy in a statement marking the occasion. He praised HM the King for establishing a solid democratic foundation through a comprehensive development process, highlighting Bahrain’s participation in this global event on the 25th anniversary of His Majesty’s reign. Al Saleh acknowledged the government’s efforts, led by HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, in promoting democratic awareness and sound governance.

The focus of this year’s celebrations included an emphasis on artificial intelligence, highlighting the importance of leveraging technology for development. Al Saleh commended the leadership of His Royal Highness, emphasizing the importance of growing political awareness and the strong democratic foundation established in Bahrain. The commitment to democracy in Bahrain is grounded in national values and seeks to strengthen civic participation and institutional governance.

Overall, Bahrain’s dedication to democracy has been evident in the progress made in advancing democratic practices and ensuring the rule of law. The cooperation between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches has enabled Bahrain to achieve stability and foster public participation in governance, contributing to the country’s overall development. The commitment to inclusive governance and constitutional principles reflects Bahrain’s ongoing efforts to promote democratic awareness and sound governance, supported by the leadership of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The emphasis on technology and artificial intelligence in this year’s celebrations demonstrates Bahrain’s focus on leveraging technology for development, further enhancing its democratic practices.
