His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Educational Charitable Trust and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering dedication to providing quality opportunities for citizens. These initiatives are geared towards boosting career development and empowering Bahrainis to actively contribute to the country’s economic growth and national development, under the leadership of His Majesty the King and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

During the recent quarterly meeting of Tamkeen’s Board of Directors, chaired by His Highness, the significant achievements of Team Bahrain in various economic sectors were lauded, reinforcing the need to expand opportunities for Bahrainis in terms of employment, career development, and entrepreneurship. The meeting emphasized the crucial role of collaboration between the public and private sectors in advancing the Kingdom and its people.

Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, presented an overview of the progress made against the 2024 key performance indicators (KPIs), with a focus on the milestones achieved since the launch of Tamkeen’s largest support package. The update highlighted the success in meeting this year’s targets, including the entry of 12,017 Bahrainis into the labor market through employment support, 20,032 Bahrainis receiving career development assistance, and 7,090 enterprises benefiting from various programs, with a majority of them being Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Since the initiation of Tamkeen’s programs in November last year, over 32,000 Bahrainis have benefited from wage support and career development opportunities, marking a significant milestone in Tamkeen’s performance. Currently, 47% of Bahraini employees in the private sector are enrolled in Tamkeen’s employment and wage support initiatives, indicating the positive impact these programs are having on the workforce in Bahrain.

The meeting also shed light on Tamkeen’s economic impact on both individuals and enterprises, focusing on aspects like job placement, career development, and enterprise support. The emphasis was on highlighting the overall positive influence of Tamkeen’s initiatives on the economy, showcasing the organization’s commitment to fostering a supportive environment for Bahrainis to thrive in their careers and businesses.

In conclusion, His Highness’s reaffirmation of Bahrain’s commitment to providing quality opportunities for its citizens through initiatives like Tamkeen underlines the government’s dedication to enhancing career prospects and empowering Bahrainis to contribute effectively to the nation’s economic progress. The continued success of Tamkeen’s programs in facilitating job creation, career development, and enterprise support signifies a step in the right direction towards a more prosperous and inclusive society in Bahrain. Through collaboration between the public and private sectors, the Kingdom of Bahrain is on track to achieve greater heights in terms of economic growth and sustainable development.
