Tamkeen, the Labour Fund in Bahrain, is dedicated to ensuring that its program support objectives are met and that public funds are not misused. Through conducting over 4,300 inspection visits to businesses benefiting from employment and wage support programs, Tamkeen has been able to detect violations and take appropriate action. In cases of unlawful dismissals, Tamkeen has implemented a new procedure in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour. They have also maintained communication with over 32,400 beneficiaries during and after the support period, resulting in a very low percentage of unlawful dismissals among the total beneficiaries contacted.

When violations are identified, Tamkeen addresses them based on their nature. Administrative violations, such as non-compliance with support conditions and program policies, are dealt with according to the Fund’s regulations for suppliers and beneficiaries. Depending on the severity of the violation, Tamkeen may reclaim support funds, deny access to future support programs, or refer cases to relevant authorities for further action. The Fund also has the authority to impose administrative penalties as necessary.

Recognizing the crucial role of the public in reporting violations, Tamkeen commended the community for their commitment and responsibility in safeguarding public funds. They emphasize the importance of adhering to program support terms and conditions, as well as transparent communication with Tamkeen for any necessary clarification. Cooperation with Tamkeen representatives during inspection visits and providing accurate information and documents are also encouraged to enhance regulatory operations and ensure support reaches its intended beneficiaries.

To further promote transparency and accountability, Tamkeen urges both beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries of support programs to report any violations or misconduct through designated channels. These include a whistleblowing hotline and an email address specifically set up for reporting purposes. By fostering a culture of reporting and accountability, Tamkeen aims to strengthen regulatory efforts and uphold the integrity of its programs.

In the pursuit of ensuring that public funds are used effectively and in accordance with program guidelines, Tamkeen has renewed its commitment to monitoring and addressing violations promptly. By maintaining open channels of communication with beneficiaries and the public, Tamkeen aims to build trust and cooperation in upholding program integrity. Reports of violations play a crucial role in maintaining accountability and deterring misuse of public funds, reflecting the collective responsibility of the community in safeguarding financial resources.

As Tamkeen continues to refine its inspection processes and enforcement mechanisms, the Fund remains focused on supporting businesses and individuals in Bahrain through its various programs. By staying vigilant and responsive to potential violations, Tamkeen demonstrates its commitment to upholding ethical standards and ensuring that program benefits reach those in genuine need. Through collaboration with stakeholders and the public, Tamkeen strives to create a transparent and accountable ecosystem that supports economic growth and social welfare in the region.
