Sultanate to celebrate Omani Women’s Day on Thursday

The Sultanate of Oman is preparing to celebrate Omani Women’s Day on October 17th, an annual event that highlights the achievements of women in various fields. This year, the focus will be on culture, literature, and manuscripts, with an operetta titled Hawa of Oman dedicated to honoring leading female personalities in these areas. Wadha Salim Al Alawi, Director of Woman Affairs at the Ministry of Social Development, emphasized the importance of recognizing women’s contributions to the country’s development and the need to provide them with opportunities to excel.

The celebration of Omani Women’s Day reflects the Sultanate’s commitment to supporting and empowering women, in line with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. The Ministry of Social Development has chosen to highlight the achievements of women in culture, literature, and manuscripts this year to showcase their impact on a national, regional, and international level. Additionally, the declaration of Muscat as the Capital of Arab Women in 2024 further underscores Oman’s dedication to promoting women’s innovation and intellectual property rights.

The selection of Muscat as the Capital of Arab Women in 2024 is a testament to Oman’s efforts in creating a conducive environment for women to thrive in various fields. By recognizing and honoring the achievements of women in culture, literature, and manuscripts, the Sultanate is showcasing the valuable contributions of women to the country’s progress. This year’s Omani Women’s Day celebration will serve as a platform to highlight the accomplishments of female leaders and inspire future generations to pursue their passions.

The operetta titled Hawa of Oman will be a centerpiece of the celebrations, paying tribute to the resilience, creativity, and determination of Omani women.
