NEOM, a futuristic city in Saudi Arabia, has officially unveiled Sindalah, a luxurious island getaway and the first physical showcase of NEOM. The opening of Sindalah, announced by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in December 2022, is a significant milestone in NEOM’s development. Transforming Sindalah from concept to reality has been a two-year effort involving a workforce of up to 30,000 individuals, four local contracting partners, and around 60 subcontractors. This development aligns with Saudi Vision 2030’s tourism ambitions and highlights NEOM’s ability to create innovative destinations.

Situated in the glistening waters of the Red Sea, just five kilometers off the NEOM coastline in northwest Saudi Arabia, Sindalah spans 840,000 square meters. It is strategically located 17 hours by sea from key Mediterranean destinations, making it the gateway to the Red Sea for European, Saudi, and GCC yacht owners. Built with a blend of natural beauty and tech-driven design, Sindalah features world-class restaurants, hotels, venues, and experiences. By 2028, the island is expected to welcome up to 2,400 guests daily and generate approximately 3,500 jobs, contributing to the Kingdom’s hospitality and tourism sectors in line with Saudi Vision 2030.

Nadhmi Al-Nasr, CEO of NEOM, expressed NEOM’s commitment to supporting the Kingdom’s new era of luxury tourism with the opening of Sindalah. He emphasized that the island’s realization is a testament to the visionary leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Saudi Vision 2030. With its impressive marine ecosystem, Sindalah’s surrounding waters are home to 1,100 fish species, including 45 unique to NEOM, as well as over 300 coral species. The island’s development has prioritized sustainability and conservation efforts to preserve its natural marine habitat for guests to explore underwater wonders.

Sindalah features an 86-berth marina designed to usher in a new era of sailing in the region. The Sindalah Yacht Club, designed by Stefano Ricci, serves as the marina’s focal point, offering amenities for yachting guests, owners, and crew. The marina includes docking facilities, offshore buoys for superyachts, and a range of yacht management services. The Village and Promenade on the island are vibrant entertainment and social zones, offering culinary experiences, luxury retail outlets, and entertainment venues. The Beach Club provides poolside lounging and music experiences, while the beachfront Golf Club offers an elevated golfing experience with an 18-hole course.

Accommodation options on Sindalah include 440 rooms, 88 villas, and 218 luxury serviced apartments for guests to choose from. Booking information will soon be available through NEOM’s tourism channels. This luxurious island destination aims to provide visitors with a first glimpse of NEOM’s extensive portfolio of destinations and developments. With its strategic location, state-of-the-art amenities, and commitment to sustainability, Sindalah sets a new standard for luxury tourism in Saudi Arabia. As NEOM continues to expand and develop, Sindalah is just the beginning of the city’s ambitious goals for creating innovative and luxurious destinations in the region.
