Successful Start-Up Forum hosted by Bahrain Chapter of ICAI

The Bahrain Chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) recently hosted a successful event called the “Start-Up Majlis” at the Crowne Plaza. The event brought together entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and innovators in Bahrain’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The event was expertly led by CA Bharti Maheshwari, with an inspiring opening address by Chairperson CA Vivek Gupta focusing on cultivating impactful ideas and relationships. Guest of Honor Mr. Mohammed Abdulali Al-Ali emphasized the role of Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) in business turnarounds and introduced the concept of the “power of zero” for entrepreneurs to consider new paradigms in their strategies.

Keynote speaker Mr. Nawaf Mohamed AlKoheji, former CEO of Tenmou, highlighted the importance of building a strong start-up ecosystem. He encouraged attendees to focus on strong founders and strategic growth areas that drive success. Industry leaders like Anish Maheshwari and Gururajan Krishnamurthy provided valuable insights into investment strategies and shared remarkable journeys within the MENA region. The technical sessions were informative and engaging, offering attendees practical knowledge and inspiration for their entrepreneurial endeavors.

A highlight of the event was the inaugural start-up pitching competition, where finalists Rizq and Unfade presented their innovative concepts. Ultimately, Unfade was celebrated for its potential impact and emerged victorious in the competition. The event concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Narayan Ganapathy, addressing the challenges and opportunities facing entrepreneurs in the region. Panelists Prashant Kumar Shrivastava and Nasra Al Abrawi encouraged collaboration and innovation among entrepreneurs.

The Bahrain Chapter of ICAI expressed gratitude to its Knowledge Partner, Keiretsu Forum, and Networking Partner, BNI Bahrain, for their essential support in making the event a success. The “Start-Up Majlis” showcased the thriving entrepreneurial spirit in Bahrain and highlighted the ongoing efforts to nurture and develop this dynamic ecosystem. The event was a testament to the innovative ideas and connections being fostered within Bahrain’s entrepreneurial community, with a focus on collaboration and growth.
