The Saudi Council of Ministers recently praised the outcomes of the Extraordinary Arab-Islamic Summit, expressing hope that it would lead to strengthened joint action and continued cooperation with the international community to help halt the war on the Gaza Strip. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who also serves as the Prime Minister, presided over the Cabinet session in Riyadh. Following the session, Minister of Media Salman Al-Dossary provided a statement to the Saudi Press Agency. The Council discussed the results of the summit and the Crown Prince’s meetings with leaders from various countries. The Kingdom reiterated its support for Palestine and Lebanon in overcoming the humanitarian consequences resulting from the Israeli aggression. Furthermore, it encouraged countries worldwide to join the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution, launched by the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee in collaboration with the European Union and Norway.

The Cabinet welcomed the signing of the Tripartite Mechanism Document among the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the Arab League, and the African Union Commission with the aim of supporting Palestine. At the beginning of the session, the Crown Prince briefed the Council on his discussions with Iran’s President Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian and Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba. He also mentioned a phone call with the US President-elect Donald Trump, where he emphasized Saudi Arabia’s desire to strengthen historical and strategic relations with the United States. The Council reviewed the Kingdom’s contributions and initiatives in supporting international multilateral actions to address present and future challenges and respond to urgent global issues. The Council highlighted the importance of development, prosperity, and strengthening common cultural and social ties.

The Council emphasized the Kingdom’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with countries worldwide, fostering joint coordination in various fields, and continuing its humanitarian and development role. Minister Al-Dossary stated that the Council reaffirmed the Kingdom’s interest in promoting cultural communication between different cultures globally. The Council expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the “Arab Week at UNESCO” initiative launched by Saudi Arabia at the headquarters of UNESCO in Paris. On the domestic front, members of the Cabinet commended the Crown Prince for welcoming the Saudi medical team that performed the first full robotic heart transplant in the world. The Council also praised the outcome of the Riyadh Biban 24 Forum, where agreements and launches worth more than SR35.4 billion were signed to support entrepreneurship in various sectors and achieve national targets for increasing the contribution of small and medium enterprises to the gross domestic product.

The Cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding between the Saudi government and the Islamic Development Bank to collaborate on implementing initiatives of the Oil Sustainability Program. Additionally, it authorized the Minister of Education to establish rules and regulations for the Saudi School Sports Federation. The Cabinet also endorsed the application of the Official Communications Regulation and the preservation of documents and information for a period of one year from its implementation date. The decisions made during the Cabinet session reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to international cooperation, supporting humanitarian causes, promoting cultural exchange, and fostering domestic development in various sectors.
