Road rehabilitation projects in various blocks in Diraz are currently underway in the Northern Governorate of Bahrain. Sayyed Shubbar Al Wadaei, Chairman of the Northern Municipal Council, announced that the project in Block 536 of Diraz will involve removing the existing asphalt layer and replacing it with a new one. Additionally, underground channels for future services, as well as traffic signs and road markings, will be installed to improve infrastructure for residents. In parallel, the sewage network project in Block 522 of Barbar is progressing well, with 65% of the work completed since it started on October 1, 2023.

Another infrastructure project in the new area of Jid Al Hajj has also begun, with 40% of the work already completed since it started on June 9. Al Wadaei confirmed that the infrastructure project for Blocks 450 in Maqsha and 458 in Karrana, which will serve 115 buildings, is set to start in the second half of 2024. He also highlighted the importance of Block 460 as a key project for the First District, currently in the design phase with ongoing work to connect it to the main sewage network. Several other blocks are undergoing preliminary designs for 2025, including Block 502 in Jannusan and Block 526 in Barbar.

The remaining parts of Block 522, along with Blocks 524-528 in Barbar, serving 300 properties are awaiting a consultant for design work. Block 530 in Barbar is prioritized for the second half of 2025, while Block 444 in Hillat Abdul Saleh, serving approximately 185 properties, is included in the 2025-2026 programme. Al Wadaei stressed the government’s focus on enhancing infrastructure and ensuring a safe living environment for residents, with support from the Ministry of Works. He commended the Minister of Works, Ebrahim Al Hawaj, and Undersecretary Shaikh Mishaal bin Mohammed Al Khalifa for their efforts in developmental projects in the First District.

In conclusion, the ongoing road rehabilitation projects and infrastructure improvements in various blocks in Diraz are aimed at enhancing living conditions for residents. With the support of the Ministry of Works, efforts are being made to upgrade infrastructure, including roads and sewage networks, to provide a safe and conducive environment for residents in the Northern Governorate. The prioritization of key projects and ongoing design work for future developments indicates a commitment to long-term planning and sustainable growth in the area. The collaborative efforts of government officials, including the Minister of Works and Undersecretary, are instrumental in driving these developmental projects forward. Residents can look forward to improved infrastructure and a better quality of life as these projects continue to progress in the coming years.
