The Ambassadors of Qatar: The Road to Excellence Programme is a collaborative effort between Qatar Tourism’s Service Excellence Academy and the Ministry of Interior Training Institute to enhance the skills and knowledge of immigration officers. The program aims to improve the visitor experience for tourists entering and exiting Qatar by providing officers with the expertise to deliver exceptional service. Through emphasizing effective communication, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity, the goal is to empower officers to navigate diverse situations with professionalism, empathy, and care.

The three-day training programme concluded with 20 graduates who are reminded of their role as Ambassadors of Qatar, often serving as the first or last impression to visitors. By equipping officers with the necessary skills and knowledge, the programme aims to foster a seamless and enriching experience for all travellers. The training is divided into five modules: Role of Immigration in Travel Experience, Mastering Effective Communication, Pursuit of Excellence, Emotional Intelligence, and the final module focusing on the Ambassadors of Qatar.

Omar Al Jaber, Acting Director of Tourism Development at QT, highlighted the importance of providing relevant training to tourism frontliners, who are the first point of contact for visitors arriving in Qatar. The program aims to equip officers with advanced skills for engaging with visitors to provide a positive and memorable experience for all travellers. Colonel Nayef Mohammed Al Mannai, Director of the Police Officers Institute, emphasized the program’s goal of enhancing officers’ abilities to deliver exceptional service while representing the country as Ambassadors of Qatar.

By focusing on the importance of effective communication, emotional intelligence, and cultural sensitivity, the training program aims to enable officers to navigate diverse situations with professionalism, empathy, and care. The ultimate objective is to elevate the visitor experience for tourists entering and exiting Qatar, across all entry points of the country. The program is designed to remind officers of their role as representatives of Qatar and to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional service to all travellers. Through the Ambassadors of Qatar: The Road to Excellence Programme, immigration officers are empowered to deliver a seamless and enriching experience for visitors, thereby enhancing Qatar’s reputation as a welcoming and hospitable destination.
