The State of Qatar, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority, recently participated in the 16th ICAO Air Services Negotiation (ICAN2024) conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This event, organized by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), brings together numerous countries, international organizations, and aviation experts to discuss and negotiate air transport matters. The Qatari delegation, led by acting president of the General Civil Aviation Authority Mohamed Faleh Al Hajr, attended the conference to exchange expertise and negotiate air services agreements with other participants.

ICAN is considered the largest international event for negotiations and discussions on air transport matters. It provides a platform for participants to stay informed about current trends and issues in the aviation industry and to exchange knowledge and best practices in the field. The conference also offers opportunities for countries to negotiate air services agreements on a bilateral or multilateral basis in order to keep up with the rapid developments in the global air transport industry. By participating in ICAN, Qatar aims to enhance its air transport capabilities and strengthen its relationships with other countries in the region and beyond.

The conference in Kuala Lumpur is taking place from October 21 to 25, 2024, and is expected to be a fruitful opportunity for Qatar to engage with other aviation stakeholders and explore potential collaborations. With the participation of countries from around the world, the event provides a diverse and dynamic platform for networking, learning, and negotiating. Qatar’s presence at the conference highlights its commitment to ensuring the continued growth and development of its aviation sector and its dedication to fostering international cooperation in the field.

As one of the leading countries in the aviation industry, Qatar has made significant advancements in air transport infrastructure and services in recent years. By participating in international conferences like ICAN, Qatar can showcase its achievements, share its expertise, and learn from other countries’ experiences. The conference in Kuala Lumpur serves as a valuable opportunity for Qatar to strengthen its position as a key player in the global aviation market and to contribute to shaping the future of air transport through collaboration and dialogue with other stakeholders.

In addition to participating in discussions and negotiations at ICAN, Qatar also has the opportunity to showcase its national airline, Qatar Airways, which is one of the leading carriers in the world. Through its participation in the conference, Qatar can promote its airline services, explore new partnerships, and demonstrate its commitment to excellence in air travel. By highlighting the success and innovation of Qatar Airways, the country can attract potential investors, partners, and customers who are seeking high-quality air transport services and infrastructure.

Overall, Qatar’s participation in the 16th ICAO Air Services Negotiation conference in Kuala Lumpur reflects its dedication to advancing the aviation industry and fostering international cooperation in air transport. By engaging with other countries, organizations, and experts at ICAN, Qatar can strengthen its position as a key player in the global aviation market and contribute to the ongoing development and innovation in the field. Through its participation in events like ICAN, Qatar demonstrates its commitment to excellence, collaboration, and growth in the aviation sector.
