Qatar joins event focused on attaining sustainable development goals for everyone

During the event, participants exchanged experiences and lessons learned from the ASEAN region in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a focus on gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls. The State of Qatar shared its own efforts and initiatives in promoting gender equality and women’s empowerment, highlighting the importance of including women and girls in all aspects of sustainable development.

Nouf Khalid Al Suwaidi emphasized the State of Qatar’s commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030 and international agreements such as the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action. She also highlighted the importance of partnerships and collaboration at both national and international levels to achieve the SDGs and leave no woman or girl behind.

The event provided a platform for dialogue and knowledge-sharing among participants from various countries and international organizations, aiming to identify best practices and innovative approaches to accelerate progress towards the SDGs, particularly in the areas of gender equality and women’s empowerment. The discussions emphasized the importance of mainstreaming gender perspectives in all policies and programs to ensure that women and girls are not left behind in the pursuit of sustainable development.

The State of Qatar’s participation in the event reaffirmed its commitment to advancing gender equality and women’s empowerment both nationally and internationally.
