Qatar hosts event in New York on Empowering Youth through Global Partnerships

The Permanent Mission of the State of Qatar to the United Nations, in partnership with Education Above All (EAA) Foundation, Generation Unlimited, and UNICEF, organized an event on ‘Catalyzing Youth Empowerment through Global Partnerships’ during the Summit of the Future 2024 at the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 79) in New York. The event was attended by Minister of State for International Cooperation HE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of Youth and Sports in the Lebanese caretaker government HE George Kallas, and other influential figures representing various sectors.

During the event, Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations HE Sheikha Alia Ahmed bin Saif Al Thani highlighted the importance of partnerships in empowering youth and driving action towards a more youth-oriented world. She emphasized Qatar’s commitment to investing in quality education and providing young people with the necessary skills for a brighter future. She also mentioned a memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed between Qatar and Canada to enhance joint foreign aid policies and promote economic and social empowerment in line with the Sustainable Development Goals.

The speakers at the event discussed strategies aimed at equipping young people with the skills needed in today’s world to ensure a prosperous, inclusive, and sustainable future. The event aimed to emphasize the crucial role of partnerships between stakeholders in nurturing youth potential and promoting sustainable development.
