Minister of Culture H E Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani recently inaugurated the Qatari Cultural Week in Uzbekistan, highlighting the bilateral cultural cooperation between the two countries. The event was attended by various dignitaries, including Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan H E Nazarbekov Ozodbek Ahmedovich and Ambassador of Qatar to Uzbekistan Hassan bin Hamza Hashem. The aim of the cultural week is to showcase Qatari heritage and culture while promoting cultural exchange between Qatar and Uzbekistan.

Assistant Undersecretary for Cultural Affairs at the Ministry of Culture Dr. Ghanem bin Mubarak Al Ali stated that the Qatari Cultural Week in Uzbekistan is part of a series of cultural events held by the Ministry in friendly countries. The week aims to introduce Qatari arts, culture, and heritage to a global audience, emphasizing the role of culture as a bridge for communication and understanding between peoples. This cultural exchange is essential for fostering closer ties between Qatar and Uzbekistan.

The opening ceremony featured performances by the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra, showcasing a blend of classical music and traditional Qatari art. The oud trio and artist Mansour Al Mohannadi also participated in presenting musical pieces during the event. Additionally, the Qatari Cultural Week in Uzbekistan includes traditional market stalls and buildings inspired by Qatari architecture, highlighting various aspects of Qatari culture such as shipbuilding, traditional clothing, and falconry.

Moreover, the cultural week features film screenings by the Doha Film Institute (DFI), with the support of Qatar Tourism (QT) and Qatar Airways. These films offer a glimpse into Qatari culture and provide a unique perspective on the country’s traditions and heritage. The event also includes performances of the Qatari Ardha, a traditional dance, as well as sea arts and songs that showcase the rich cultural tapestry of Qatar.

Overall, the Qatari Cultural Week in Uzbekistan serves as a platform for promoting cultural diplomacy and enhancing cultural ties between Qatar and Uzbekistan. By sharing its arts, heritage, and traditions with the people of Uzbekistan, Qatar aims to foster mutual understanding and appreciation between the two nations. Through events like these, Qatar continues to strengthen its cultural partnerships and promote cultural exchange on an international scale.
