A private hospital in Bahrain has come to a halt, leaving staff unpaid and patients turned away. The sudden cessation of services has affected around 30 specialties, including general surgery, obstetrics, and cosmetic procedures. Staff members have not been paid for two months, leading to resignations and financial strain. Despite the challenges, the medical team continued to provide care until late August when surgical procedures were abruptly halted. Operations have been reduced to outpatient services only, and complaints have been filed with the Ministry of Labour.

Workers at the hospital have raised concerns about the unpaid wages and the uncertainty of the hospital’s future. A delegation from the Ministry of Labour has visited the hospital to investigate the situation and find a resolution. The hospital’s management has promised to address the issue within weeks, but details are still unclear. With no salaries received since June and no end in sight, staff are feeling frustrated and left in the dark about the hospital’s operations.

An anonymous doctor revealed that the hospital employs approximately 190 staff members, with 50 being Bahrainis. The lack of salary payments for July and August has caused distress among employees. The situation has escalated to the point where surgeries were suddenly cancelled in August without explanation, leading to further uncertainty among staff. The lack of communication from the hospital’s management has added to the frustration and confusion surrounding the situation.

Despite efforts from the Ministry of Labour to seek solutions, the hospital’s management has not made any public statements regarding the ongoing issues. Many attempts to gather information about the situation have been unsuccessful. The lack of transparency and communication from the hospital’s management has only worsened the situation for both staff and patients. With operations scaled back and no clear timeline for resolution, the future of the hospital remains uncertain.

Staff members at the hospital feel abandoned and left in limbo about their next steps. The impact of the halted operations has not only affected their financial stability but also their sense of security in the workplace. The inability to conduct surgeries and provide essential medical services has left patients stranded and in need of alternative healthcare options. The lack of clarity and communication from the hospital’s management has further exacerbated the situation, causing distress among staff and patients alike.

As the situation at the private hospital in Bahrain continues to unfold, both staff and patients are left in a state of uncertainty. The lack of payment, communication, and clarity surrounding the sudden halt in operations has created a challenging environment for all involved. With ongoing investigations, it remains to be seen whether the hospital will be able to overcome its current challenges and resume full operations. In the meantime, staff members and patients are left grappling with the fallout of the situation, hoping for a swift resolution and a return to normalcy in the near future.
