The Social Investment Centre of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) recently held its first meeting under the chair of HH Sayyida Dr. Mona Fahd Al Said, Head of the Centre. The meeting focused on the centre’s action plan and strategies to achieve integration with partners from both the public and private sectors, as well as charities and civil society organizations. Sayyida Mona emphasized that the centre was created to align with OCCI’s vision and its new identity, highlighting the importance of collaboration among various stakeholders.

During the meeting, the Board of Directors discussed key initiatives to promote social investment in Oman, in line with the country’s development goals. The centre aims to foster collaborations and partnerships that will have a positive impact on society and contribute to sustainable growth. By working closely with government entities, businesses, non-profit organizations, and other stakeholders, the centre seeks to drive social change and address pressing issues in the community.

One of the main priorities of the Social Investment Centre is to explore innovative approaches to social development and support initiatives that can make a difference in people’s lives. This includes promoting corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, supporting charitable projects, and investing in programs that benefit marginalized groups. By leveraging the expertise and resources of its partners, the centre aims to create meaningful and sustainable solutions to social challenges in Oman.

Sayyida Mona highlighted the importance of building strong relationships with partners and stakeholders to maximize the impact of the centre’s initiatives. By fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility, the centre can create a more inclusive and equitable society. Through strategic partnerships with government agencies, businesses, and civil society organizations, the centre can leverage collective expertise and resources to address complex social issues and drive positive change.

The Social Investment Centre is also focused on promoting transparency and accountability in social investment activities. By ensuring that resources are used effectively and efficiently, the centre can maximize its impact and build trust with stakeholders. Through monitoring and evaluation mechanisms, the centre can track the progress of its initiatives and make data-driven decisions to continuously improve its programs and services for the benefit of the community.

Overall, the first meeting of the Social Investment Centre of OCCI set the stage for a collaborative and impactful approach to social development in Oman. By fostering partnerships, promoting innovation, and prioritizing accountability, the centre aims to drive positive change and create a more sustainable and inclusive society. With Sayyida Mona’s leadership and the support of the Board of Directors, the centre is well-positioned to make a significant difference in the lives of people in Oman through its social investment initiatives.
