The Northern Governorate in Bahrain is facing a budget shortfall due to the increasing number of fire incidents and the need for flood barriers, according to Abdullah Al Qubaisi, a member of the Northern Municipal Council. This governorate, with 12 constituencies, is the most populous in Bahrain and requires a larger budget to meet its needs. Despite the Ministry of Municipalities and Agriculture distributing an equal budget across all governorates, the Northern Governorate’s demands are significantly higher due to its size and population.

Al Qubaisi highlighted the challenges faced by the Northern Governorate, particularly the strain on the budget caused by the Village Development Project, critical cases, and flood barrier requests. The inclusion of urgent cases and flood barrier requirements has led to a depletion of funds, leaving many requests unmet. He emphasized the importance of separating the budget for the Village Development Project from the funding allocated for critical cases and flood barriers to ensure that all essential needs are met.

Proposing the allocation of separate budgets for each project, Al Qubaisi stated that this would guarantee sufficient funds for all essential needs in the North Governorate. By having distinct budgets for the Village Development Project, critical cases, and flood barriers, all projects would receive adequate funding and be able to address the specific needs of the region effectively. This approach would help in ensuring that the Northern Governorate does not face a budget shortfall and can continue to develop and grow.

It is crucial for the authorities to consider the disparity in demands across different governorates and adjust the budget allocation accordingly. The Northern Governorate’s larger size and population require a higher budget to meet its needs effectively. By implementing separate budgets for different projects, the council can efficiently allocate funds to address the critical cases, flood barriers, and other essential requirements in the Northern Governorate.

In conclusion, the Northern Governorate in Bahrain is facing budget challenges due to its size, population, and increasing needs for flood barriers and critical cases. Abdullah Al Qubaisi has highlighted the importance of separating the budget for different projects to ensure that all essential needs are met adequately. By having distinct budgets for the Village Development Project, critical cases, and flood barriers, the Northern Governorate can overcome its budget shortfall and continue to develop and thrive. It is essential for the authorities to address the specific demands of each governorate and allocate funds accordingly to support their growth and development.
