In a recent statement, MP Dr. Maryam Al Dhaen highlighted the importance of strengthening Bahrain’s national identity to support the Kingdom’s comprehensive development. Emphasizing the crucial role that national identity plays in promoting loyalty and unity among citizens, she stated that it is essential for creating a strong social fabric that will contribute to Bahrain’s growth and stability. This commitment to strengthening national identity was further emphasized by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in a recent address to the Shura and Representatives Councils, where he called for a nationwide effort to root the Bahraini identity.

Dr. Al Dhaen commended government-led initiatives, particularly the program led by the Ministry of Interior, which aims to deepen national belonging and citizenship values. She also stressed the importance of integrating concepts of identity into legislation and government programs, as well as the need for educational workshops to instil Bahrain’s cultural and historical values in future generations. Additionally, she highlighted the role of cultural events in celebrating Bahrain’s rich heritage and diversity, noting the efforts of organizations such as the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) and the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA).

In conclusion, MP Dr. Maryam Al Dhaen called for collaboration across government, civil society, and the private sector to preserve and promote Bahrain’s national identity for the benefit of future generations. By working together to uphold the Kingdom’s cultural heritage and values, all stakeholders can contribute to the continued development and prosperity of Bahrain. Strengthening national identity is a key aspect of nation-building and is crucial for fostering a sense of community and belonging among citizens. As Bahrain continues to progress and evolve, maintaining a strong national identity will be essential for ensuring unity and stability in the Kingdom.

Her call for integrating concepts of identity into legislation and government programs reflects a holistic approach to nation-building that recognizes the importance of cultural heritage in shaping society. By instilling Bahrain’s cultural and historical values in future generations, the Kingdom can ensure that its unique identity is preserved for years to come. Cultural events play a significant role in celebrating Bahrain’s rich heritage and diversity, providing opportunities for citizens to come together and showcase their pride in their shared identity.

Through collaboration and partnership, government, civil society, and the private sector can work together to promote and preserve Bahrain’s national identity. By recognizing the importance of cultural heritage and values, all stakeholders can contribute to the Kingdom’s ongoing development and success. By celebrating and preserving Bahrain’s unique identity, the nation can continue to thrive and prosper, setting an example for unity and stability in the region. With a strong national identity as its foundation, Bahrain is poised to continue its journey towards progress and prosperity for future generations.
